2012 Kid's Korner!

Something new for kids

This year the festival’s Kids Korner will offer some new opportunities for fun. Along with kid-friendly booths, a chance to talk with local firemen and climb on-board a fire truck, and the community stage, the festival will also feature pony rides and Games on Wheels.

Pony rides will take place on the Bank of America parking lot. Hosted by Seattle Pony Party, rides are $5 each. All the rides are hand-led so there is always a handler within reach of each rider. And, if a child looks unsteady in the saddle a parent may walk along with him or her.

Throughout the festival, kids can meet Annie (a silver pinto), Toby (a tri-colored pinto), Biscuit (a dappled gray mare), Spike (a gray and black Appaloosa gelding), Applesauce (a bay mare), Henry (a pinto gelding) and Kriya (an Arab/quarterhorse gelding) as each pony works no more than four hours per day. All the ponies are fully grown. There is a weight limit for each pony of 40 to 85 pounds.

Games on Wheels will also be in the Bank of America parking lot. This 30-foot self-contained trailer is packed with XBOX 360s, Wiis, a PS3, and more than 65 different games to choose from. Special team activities for a social gaming experience will take place throughout the course of the festival. There is no charge to play with play time varying, depending on the number of kids waiting for a turn.
This year the bouncy toys will also be operating from the Bank of America parking lot, which is just south of the Community Stage.

Watch for the sign on Mill Creek Blvd. that will show you where to turn right to access all these great activities.
